Festival Student Art Contest Winners
The 15th Annual
Great Salt Lake Bird Festival Student Art Contest generated a lot of excitement
this year. The Student Art Contest
is sponsored in part by the Davis County Commissioners’ Cup Golf Tournament
and the Country Inn and Suites. The
Festival received 356 entries. The
entries were submitted by school classes, organizations and by individuals.
The featured bird for this contest was the Long-billed Dowitcher which
will be the featured bird at the 2014 Great Salt Lake Bird Festival May 15-20th.
Best of Show winner, Brooklynn Harris is from Legacy Elementary in
American Fork. Brooklynn entered in
the grades 4-6 category and will have her art spotlighted in 2014 Festival
programming. An award ceremony was
held Friday evening, May 17th. The student art was on display May 17th
and 18th at the Davis County Events Center in Farmington.
Congratulations to all who entered. Special
thanks is given to Amy Haran for chairing this art contest.
Entries for the 2014 Great
Salt Lake Bird Festival Student Art Contest will be due May 2, 2014.
The art contest bird (2015 spotlight bird) is the Broad-tailed
